Our Story
HOW IT STARTED
Rumble West 85th began long before ownership.
It began through lived experience. In 2016, Johngie trained in boxing with one of Rumble’s founding coaches, experiencing firsthand the discipline, structure, and growth the sport demands. In 2020,
his wife joined Rumble as a client, discovering not just
a workout, but a community that challenged and strengthened her.
how its going
By 2024, their involvement deepened. She
stepped into the role of Motivator (boxing
instructor) and quickly rose to Lead at Rumble
West 85th. That same year, Johngie joined as
a boxing coach and later became the Personal
Training Lead and Educator, committed
to elevating coaching standards and
developing the team.
In 2024, her parents, long-time supporters who
believed in the vision from the very beginning -
became clients themselves and eventually stepped in as co-owners and partners in the journey. What
started as support behind the scenes became
a shared family commitment to the studio and
its impact.
Now, as owners, they enter a new chapter — focused on building a stronger, united community through boxing and performance-driven training. Rooted in eudaemonia — the relentless pursuit of becoming more. The Rumble West 85th exists to help people grow stronger together, inside and outside the gym. Because when family builds community, and community fights together, everyone rises.
